に (ni) vs で (de)
What's the Difference?

Common Mistakes
- ⚠ Saying 公園でいます instead of 公園にいます — existence verbs (いる/ある) always use に
- ⚠ Saying 学校にテニスをします instead of 学校でテニスをします — action verbs use で for location
- ⚠ Confusing に (destination) with で (location of action) — 図書館に行く (go TO) vs 図書館で勉強する (study AT)
Memory Tip
💡 に is for BEING somewhere (static) and GOING somewhere (direction). で is for DOING something somewhere (active). If you can add 'in order to do something' after the location, use で.
